Today is a special day for the Chapter-A-Day Audio Bible. We just reached 2,000,000 downloads!
Several years ago, I started a project to record the entire text of the Bible and release it as a free, daily podcast. The project took three years to complete, and since that time, I have learned that the recordings are being used by;
The blind and visually impaired
Busy commuters
Families who do daily devotions together
Bible students
Those who are training for vocational ministry
People of all stripes who want to grow in their walk with Christ
I’m an avid listener of podcasts, so it’s gratifying to know that something I’m producing is also a blessing to others. It still amazes me to see thousands of people throughout the world access the recordings on a daily basis.
It took 35 months for the podcast to reach 1,000,000 downloads. It took an additional 11 months to reach 2,000,000. At the present rate, it might be near 4,000,000 downloads around this time next year.
Taking on this project has taught me a few things that I’d like to share in the hopes that it will encourage you as well…
Do what the Lord is leading you to do, even if it stretches you or takes more time than you expect.
Stick with what you’ve committed to complete and don’t make excuses for quitting.
Use your gifts and talents to glorify the Lord. Generously give away what He has given to you.
Attempt big things, and marvel at how the Lord magnifies their impact.
I don’t know if you can sense that the Lord may be calling you to step out on faith and do something out of the norm, but if so, don’t hesitate to obey His leading. I think you’ll be surprised at what He accomplishes through your faithful obedience.
